Dr. Christopher A. Melgey

Dr. Christopher A. Melgey grew up on a farm, where his love of animals started early. He earned his Bachelor of Science at the University of Connecticut and his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at Oklahoma State University.

After owning a practice in Connecticut, Dr. Melgey moved to South Florida with his family and purchased Crystal Lake Animal Hospital from founder Dr. Peter Fleming in August 2012. He focuses on his patients’ wellbeing, careful surgery and clear communication, so every client can make informed decisions about their pet’s care. He has a soft spot for rescue animals.

Outside the hospital, Dr. Melgey is a proud father of three daughters and grandfather of four, and his home is full of dogs, cats and horses.
